Brussels 27/11/23
Xeros Technology were honoured to be invited to a closed-door, roundtable discussion on Monday in the European Parliament, alongside some of the most noteworthy figures in environmental policy.
Fashionscapes of Transformation, hosted by MEP Alessandra Morretti and Livia Firth, gathered NGOs, business representatives, and stakeholders within the fashion industry for a intimate conversation with Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius and MEPs. Our Marketing Director Emily Axten was privy to ongoing dialogues around the future of the apparel industry and found the day to be critical display of leadership taking place in Europe.
As ever, legislating in industry is an extremely complex topic and considerations on impact must be made across the entire value chain, from fossil fuel dependence and GHSs, to biodiversity, social impact and human rights. It’s great to see the openness policymakers are showing towards solutions and we are fortunate to have been given a seat at the table while policy is being influenced.
Thank you to all those who offered valuable contributions; MEP Beatrice Covassi, Paola Migliorini from DG Environment, Laurence Tubiana CEO of the European Climate Foundation, Sustainable Fashion Expert Matteo Ward and Natalie Swan Head of Human Rights in supply chain and Founder of The Revival Yayra Agbofah.
