GARMENT WASHING

Using fewer resources to treat textiles

XFN2 technology can be applied during the garment washing phase to modify the look, feel, durability and
comfort of clothes. Garment washing is often carried out after the stitching stage and is traditionally a
water-intensive process.

Our technology lessens the environmental impact by using XOrbs to replace a percentage of the water. As the amount of water
is reduced, alongside the mechanical action of the XOrbs, conventional or bio chemistry is more evenly distributed over
the garments.

Garment washing machines featuring XFN2 technology can produce many desired outcomes, such as applying treatments
or creating surface effects, done using a single machine, often in a quicker time whilst using significantly less water,
energy and chemistry.

CASE STUDY

Adding Stay Fresh particles to apparel with Polygiene

Our XFN2 technology is used to apply anti-odour and anti-bacterial treatment to a variety of clothes, for Polygiene, allowing garments to be more durable, and reducing the impact of caring for them over their lifetime.  The action of XOrbs spreads additives more evenly across fibres with the weight of them pushing it in at greater depth. XOrbs successfully apply additives to all types of materials including polyester t-shirts, cotton jeans and nylon leggings.

Polygiene chose Xeros as partners for their Refresh programme, which applies anti-odour particles to pre-loved clothes, because of the significant water-saving our technology can offer. XFN2 technology applies the additives using 70% less water than previous methods and is 100% compliant with both the International Biodeterioration Research Group (IBRG) Tier 1 Textile Method and ISO17299 testing criteria.
